Scott Dreben, MPT
Scott Dreben, MPT, the Founder of Touch of Life Physical Therapy, holds a Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Chapman University. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Northridge with a major in Nutrition. After working with a fantastic physical therapy practice for several years, Scott went on to open his own practice with his wife, Deanna, in 2005. Touch of Life Physical Therapy was born. Since then, Scott has dedicated himself to enhancing his skills through continuing education coursework that emphasize a comprehensive, holistic approach to treatment. His extensive knowledge and manual therapy education has led him to specialize in Counterstrain as his primary hands on method to address all physical problems within the body. Scott is a firm believer in the ever expanding knowledge of healing modalities and is committed to keeping pace with the newest research and professional techniques in his field. Further, he maintains an active professional dialogue with colleagues in related disciplines in order to ensure that his patients receive the highest, and most thorough, standard of care.
David Fein, DPT
David Fein, DPT, originally from San Rafael, California, holds a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Baylor University. He has over a decade of experience exploring techniques in the field of rehabilitation, time spent refining his approach to find the most effective route to solving his patient's problems. He has extensive training in manual therapy and personal training, focusing on methodologies such as Counterstrain and Functional Patterns. He continues to expand his clinical skills and stay up to date with developments in the field of rehabilitation through a diverse network of relationships with practitioners in various domains of healthcare. David brings his passion and drive to find the root cause of dysfunction and harness the restorative power of the human body to every session.
Katja Sola-Pughe, DACM, L.Ac.
Katja Sola-Pughe, DACM, L.Ac. is from Helsinki, Finland and moved to California in 2008 to pursue her studies in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). She earned her Master's degree in TCM and Acupuncture from Emperor's College in Santa Monica, CA and then went on to obtain a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) from Pacific College of Health and Science. Dr. Katja has 25 years of experience in holistic health care, having owned and operated clinics in Helsinki, Finland and Marbella, Spain. Prior to studying TCM, she studied Clinical Nutrition and Reflexology in Finland and Ayurvedic Medicine in Kerala, India. While studying in India, she met her Japanese Ki (energy) Therapy instructor, Master Iwamoto, and embarked on a nine-year apprenticeship in Japan and abroad. Her studies with Master Iwamoto inspired her to seek a formal education in TCM and now, Dr. Katja combines all of her acquired knowledge and training to provide personalized dynamic treatments in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for her patients.
Jana Metken, Office Manager
Jana Metken started with Touch of Life as a patient and came on as our Office and Billing Manager in 2009. Coming from a background in finance and business, she easily transitioned into a medical setting. Jana employs a personal and comprehensive approach with each and every patient ensuring that they are fully informed and taken care of on every level. After dealing with her own medical issues for several years and observing the process from both the patient and provider's perspective she became interested in transitioning into healthcare. Her unique and holistic perspective on patient care has prompted her to pursue a degree in Naturopathic Medicine with an emphasis in biological nutrition. Further, Jana is passionate about clean eating and food transparency and hopes to share her extensive knowledge with the world in her own healthy holistic eating blog.
Jazmin Lopez, Lead Aide & Administrator
Jazmin Lopez holds a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science from California State University, Northridge. Exposed to physical therapy through an ACL injury, Jazmin's passion for this field began to unravel. She has experience both in clinical and community settings. Through these experiences Jazmin has gained the ability to work with athletes, children, adults and senior citizens. She is expected to apply to DPT programs this Fall. She enjoys sunny California hikes, cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
